West Hardin County offers quiet living among the wilderness of Southeast Texas
Stationed among Southeast Texas' thick forests and bayous is the rural neighborhood of West Hardin County. Containing the unincorporated communities of Batson and Saratoga, West Hardin County is known for its history in oil and paper manufacturing and serves as a calmer region offering a simple, quiet lifestyle. "It was built on the logging industry, and the logging industry is still a big part of it. There's a paper mill here for that reason," says local Realtor and Broker Benjamin Rodriguez of Tringle Real Estate, LLC, who has nearly 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. "It's really a bedroom community. Everybody commutes to Jefferson County for work. People do work here, but most people travel for work."
