Hiking trails along Lafayette Ridge and fishing at Lafayette Reservoir

The Lafayette Moraga Regional Trail is just south of the neighborhood; the 7.6-mile paved trail is open for walking and biking. It winds through Lafayette, roughly following Las Tampas Creek. One of the trail's notable features is a colorful collection of birdhouses built by locals and hung from a tree that drapes over the trail. The Lafayette Ridge Trail is about 2 miles north of Peardale Estates and traverses a steep ridge that provides sweeping views of Lafayette and Martinez. It also leads to Briones Park, a 6,225-acre natural wilderness north of Lafayette. The Lafayette Reservoir is about 5 miles away and has a playground and hiking trails, and its water is open for fishing and boating.
