Prostitution, drugs, homelessness, outrageously unaffordable, pollution, 24/7 traffic, constant noise, lacking in almost every possible way. I have been (and, sadly, still am) a resident for 25 years and am trapped in pure garbage. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away as possible, unless you're visiting someone in the county jail, have a court appearance or are summoned for jury duty.

Van Nuys is a really nice area and full of opportunities. I really recommend the city. Its quite quiet and comfortable. It is within reach to many other cities around the valley. It literally takes me anywhere between 15-30 minutes to get anywhere I need.

Growing up in Van Nuys, a neighborhood of Los Ángeles granted with a rich, cultural experience. The diversity of the neighborhood helped me develop my awareness of the vast amount of cultures and the acceptance and welcoming of different people from different walks of life. Growing up in the environment enabled my ability to welcome different ideas other than my own.

When I moved to the U.S two years ago I pictured myself in a town that you would see in moves. Well, the reality was completely different. Homelessness is a really common problem in this area. People are mostly from the low middle class. Even though it was the hard realization that everything is not going to be like in a movie, I do love this place. It has a good park and dog parks. Some of the schools are one of the tops ones in the valley.
