Village Green has relaxed suburban living minutes from the beach
Village Green’s rows of mobile home and suburban tract housing off East Bay Drive offer subdued living options in central Largo. Despite the fact that it branches off of a busy street with many restaurants, stores and businesses, Village Green feels largely residential. Here, neighborhood residents enjoy relaxed suburban living that’s still only minutes from the Gulf Coast and its expanse of white-sand beaches, major medical facilities, international airports and larger cities like Tampa.

Ranch-style houses and mobile homes
On the eastern side of the neighborhood are small apartment complexes and subdivisions with ranch-style homes that typically sell for between $200,000 and $400,000. These modest homes, most of which were built in the second half of the 20th century, have sparse landscaping, with the occasional old-growth oak or palm tree providing shade. East Bay Oaks is a 55+ retirement mobile home community on the western side of the neighborhood. The community’s manufactured homes typically feature attached carports and about 1,000 feet of living space on small lots. These properties sell for between $25,000 and $100,000, with a monthly land lease of about $800 to $900. “Some of these mobile home parks are popular because there’s less and less of them,” says Barbara Brockwell, Realtor at The Brockwell Group in Largo. She notes that developers now favor building condos and multi-family homes over new mobile home parks. “I have clients that really love mobile home living. They have a little bit of land, whether it’s theirs or not, and space around their home.”

A few minutes from miles of beaches and Largo Central Park
Neighborhood residents can cross the Belleair Bridge, about 5 miles west, to access miles of white sand beaches along the Gulf of Mexico. “Gulf Boulevard is the main drag that runs up and down all the beach communities,” Brockwell says. Communities such as Indian Rocks Beach and Clearwater Beach have public parking, while parking at Belleair Beach is generally for residents only. Although the neighborhood is a quick drive to the ocean, Village Green is a few miles inland, and most of the properties in the neighborhood are not in a flood zone. Village Green is also only about 2 miles from Largo Central Park, which has an accessible playground, trails around an expansive lawn and the Central Park Performing Arts Center.
