Laureles is a growing community north of Los Fresnos
Laureles, a small community of about 4,000 residents just north of Los Fresnos, offers new construction homes and older ranch-style and manufactured options. It belongs to the larger Brownsville-Harlingen area, which has a surplus of new developments, creating a buyer’s market and low prices for newly built homes. “At the moment, we’re having a lot of out-of-town buyers coming in for SpaceX,” says Realtor Monica Luna with Keller Williams Realty RGV, referencing the SpaceX Starbase that’s located about 30 miles away. “Younger families are coming in and moving into these starter homes. It’s a smaller community, so it’s more close-knit with the families, the [football] games and the school system.”
New construction homes in a buyer’s market
Laureles has primarily New Traditional new construction homes with some older ranch-style homes, bungalows and manufactured homes. Prices mainly range from $120,000 to $300,000. “There’s a lot of new developments, and there’s a lot of surplus, so it’s pretty much a buyer’s market,” Luna says. Homes in Laureles sit on large, flat yards on residential streets without sidewalks or curbs.
