From older homes to midcentury designs to golf course properties

Lawrence is known for its family-oriented neighborhoods, which offer a variety of housing options. “An interesting mix of houses, from historic to midcentury ranches to new builds,” says Summer Hudson of eXp Realty, LLC, who sells homes throughout the area and adds that “generous-sized lots” are common. There are three destinations for those seeking golf course homes: The Fort Golf Resort, Winding Ridge Golf Club and Old Oakland Golf Club. Lower-priced options are concentrated on the east side, while the largest and most-expensive homes are typically found on the west side. Condos offer a multifamily alternative. Prices generally range from the low $100,000s to the low $800,000s, although select properties can list for $1 million-plus. The median sales price of about $320,000 is significantly lower than several northside suburbs. The median is $420,000 in McCordsville, $425,000 in Fishers and $575,000 in Carmel. “You also have lower property taxes than some of the neighboring areas,” Hudson says.
