Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, 80 miles south of Nashville
Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, is a small, southern city with a population of roughly 12,000 people 80 miles south of Nashville. Named after American Navy officer James Lawrence, who served in the War of 1812, it became U.S. territory when the Chickasaw Nation sold land in the area to the U.S. in 1816. Today, the city is home to industrial employers like Plasman, Modine Manufacturing and AOC Metal Works. “It’s a small community, but a great area,” says Christie Hagan, Realtor with Coldwell Banker Southern Realty. “It’s close to Nashville and close to the Tennessee River. A lot of people move from out of state here, because Tennessee is a good place to live.”
