Lincoln city parks reflect significant investment and frequent updates
Max E. Roper Park East is between 10th and Belmont Street and 3rd and Superior Streets. With 62 acres it is the largest and most well-appointed park in Belmont. Jamie Granquist, Parks & Recs Office Specialist, says, “The disc golf course here is one of the most popular attractions in this park. It’s pretty new and it’s designed as a linear course, which means fewer holes share the same basket. That makes the game faster and more enjoyable.” Granquist says that another popular feature of the park is the bike trail that winds through wooded waterways. “Families really enjoy this trail. It’s used every day. The only time I don’t see bikers is if it’s raining or snowing.”
Belmont Park is located next to Belmont Elementary School and has an outdoor swimming pool, sports fields, a playground and covered picnic shelters. Local Little League teams will often practice on their fields. Like most of Lincoln Parks, it is open from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
