Agricultural fields, Sequoia trees and mountain views along Route 65
Lindsay, in California’s Central Valley, is a small city with deep roots in agriculture. Famous for citriculture and olives, this is the birthplace of modern irrigation. “Lindsay is a farming community with a very rural feel. It’s close to national parks, and people can go into Visalia and Porterville for shopping,” says Olga Duran, a Realtor with Re/Max Success who’s been selling homes in Tulare County for 20 years. The city is positioned between Fresno and Bakersfield, with views of the Rocky Mountain and Sierra Nevada ranges. Its diverse cultural influences come together through regular festivals that foster a sense of belonging and community. According to 2020 Census data, Lindsay has more than 12,500 residents, and it’s not done yet. The city is expanding, with steady growth projected through 2040.

The Lindsay Wellness Center, McDermott X and the Orange Blossom Festival
The Lindsay Wellness Center provides group fitness classes, social activities and exercise equipment. The aquatics center has an eight-lane pool for general swimming, aerobic classes and high school swim team events. McDermott X was once a packing house, but thanks to a $10 million renovation, it's become an all-purpose activity center with indoor basketball courts and soccer fields, a rock-climbing wall and a zip line. There’s also a gym, a laser tag game on the lower floors and a FlowRider for simulated surfing. Lindsays’s not far from the adjacent Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, either. The Friday Night Farmers’ Market showcases locally grown and produced foods. The Orange Blossom Festival, held in April, brings in over 6,000 people from the surrounding region and features a parade, art competition and food vendors.
