Orchards and interstate access just south of Manchester
Just south of downtown Manchester lies the wide-open spaces of Londonderry. Known for its apple orchards and access to trails, the town has a population of around 26,000, which has doubled in the past decade. Part of this growth is attributed to nearby Interstate 93, allowing for commutes to Manchester and Boston. In the town, prospective homebuyers can find a wide variety of options including condos, manufactured homes and spacious Colonial Revivals on acres of natural land. Area homes are close to local and chain retail stores, as well as a number of trails that snake through the town's forests and hills. “Overall, it’s a really nice place for families of all ages; there’s a lot to love, and people can really experience the ‘fruits’ of the community,” says Erin Matlin, the director of Leach Public Library, who has been serving the community since 2022.

Manchester Boston Regional Airport and Interstate 93
Proximity to the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport and Interstate 93 is one of the larger draws to the Londonderry community. Residents here can head north to downtown Manchester or drive 43 miles south to reach downtown Boston. “Lots of people tend to head to Boston for the hospitals, while a lot of people head to Manchester for work,” Matlin says. While the neighborhood is primarily car-friendly, residents can also use the nearby Londonderry Rail Trail. Elliot Hospital is just over 10 miles to the north. Some of the area's major industries include retail trade, manufacturing and healthcare.
