Why Artcraft Manor is a popular place to live
Artcraft Manor is located in Central Long Beach, just south of Interstate 405 and the Long Beach Airport. The neighborhood was developed in the mid-1900s and is known for its family-friendly suburban character. Its walkable access to a community park, restaurants and schools also makes it a convenient place to settle.

Ranchers for less than Los Altos
With its private driveways, green lawns and postwar homes, Artcraft Manor captures the look and feel of midcentury suburbia. “It’s a great neighborhood to be in if you can get into it,” says Connie Wildasinn, broker-owner for WGroup Realtors, who was born and raised in Long Beach. “People tend to come in and stay, so it’s got some stability.”
Houses typically range from the mid-$800,000s to $1.4 million, and the median sale price is in the mid-$900,000s. “In general, the costs are pretty similar to surrounding neighborhoods, but the inventory is low,” Wildasinn says. She adds that prices in Los Altos North and Los Altos South often run slightly higher.
Some gardens feature drought-tolerant landscaping.
Trees provide shade for area sidewalks.

A Long Beach neighborhood with parking
While parking is a major concern in many parts of Long Beach, thanks to wide streets and private driveways, it’s not a real problem in Artcraft Manor. Some owners have added ADUs, which has slightly increased the demand for spaces, but parking is still manageable. Traffic Circle ’s restaurants and grocery stores are within walking distance of many homes, so it’s possible to skip the parking headache when you run errands, too.
Raising your kids in Artcraft Manor
Artcraft Manor’s stable, suburban feel makes it a popular choice for families, Wildasinn says. Parents can walk their preschoolers to Marina Montessori School, and older kids build long-lasting friendships by joining Little League teams at Stearns Champions Park. Local families also meet up at the park for picnics, community yard sales and holiday celebrations.
Stearns Champions Park has a community center and multiple sports fields.

What it’s like to live near Long Beach Airport
Long Beach Airport and the 405 freeway are just north of the community, so noise is a common concern. “Given a choice, any buyer would say, ‘I don’t want to live near a freeway or a flight path,’” Wildasinn says. “I live under a flight path now. It’s a pain, but the longer you live under it, the less you notice it. It’s quieter in Artcraft Manor because you’re on the landing side — they’re reducing their engines to come to a stop.”
Commuting to Orange County or DTLA
Artcraft Manor is about 25 miles from both Downtown LA and Orange County, making it a practical choice for couples who work in different cities. Travel times vary greatly depending on when you leave for work. “You could be looking at anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour and 40 minutes,” Wildasinn says. Although Long Beach has a few Metro light rail stations, most people depend on cars for travel. “Our state was never set up for public transit. We’re a car state,” Wildasinn says.
