Accessible town in Luzerne County
Luzerne Borough is a residential community within Luzerne County. With the Back Mountain as an expansive backdrop and Toby Creek flowing through the area, Luzerne is a valley borough that is close to city centers while also having accessible shops and restaurants within the neighborhood. “Many residents tend to stay put because it’s a tight-knit community,” says Noah Doncses, an agent at Cobblestone Real Estate LLC with 5 years of experience. “The location is convenient and the industrial parts local to the Interstate-81 corridor have lots of job opportunities.”
Historic homes by Toby Creek
Painted with leafy trees and streets reminiscent of the last century, Luzerne’s houses were built in the first half of the 1900s in traditional Cape Cod, Colonial Revival and Foursquare architecture. A single-family home with three bedrooms is priced around $120,000 to $200,000. Many properties have front porches and yard space varies between minimal to medium size at around 6,000 square feet. “The home value stays steady,” Doncses says. “The standard of living here is pretty good; it costs less money to live here than in a neighboring state.”
