A Long Island haven along Manhasset Bay
Sitting along the water at Manhasset Bay, Manorhaven is a Long Island coastal town with a lasting history and a promising future. “It’s an old community that started out in the early part of the last century. The waterways were used as a takeoff for airplanes. It used to be where they would bring in some of the elite. It was a little bit of a summer retreat,” says Realtor Jeffrey Stone with Douglas Elliman and member of Manorhaven’s Board of Trustees. “Then it became a haven for people coming in from the city, often Brooklyn. That’s why I came here. I wanted to plant roots.” With the water just a short walk away from homes and plenty of marinas for boat owners, Manorhaven can be just that for residents—a haven where residents can come to stay.

Boating on Manhasset Bay from Manorhaven
Along Manorhaven’s coast, residents can dock their boats at a number of marinas, like Tom’s Point Marina and Safe Harbor Capri. North Shore Yacht Club (NSYC) opened in 1871, making it one of the oldest yacht clubs. Along with its boat storage and docks, its boat-sharing service offers rentals of the company’s boats for people not ready for ownership. Additionally, it hosts races and sailing camps for the kids. Residents can watch the stellar sunsets at Manorhaven Beach Park or swim in the pool. The park also hosts several types of athletic amenities, from basketball and tennis to bocce and shuffleboard.

Manorhaven's condos by the water and cozy cottages
The streets in Manorhaven are lined with a mix of smaller bungalows and Cape Cods nestled next to two-family Colonial houses. Most homes have driveway parking, but roads are wide enough that people can park on the street. Front yards often have light landscaping, with flowers and plants bringing color and life to front yards. Condos and co-ops like Toms Point sit along the water, offering balconies and views of the bay. Stone shares that the detached homes in the area list between $600,000 and $800,000, but the two-family houses tend to list closer to $1 to $2 million. Condos on the water can sell for around $300,000.

Paddle around Manhasset Bay at the Kayak Run
HarborFest Dock Day and Craft Fair is Port Washington’s festival along the water at Town Dock. It has many festival classics like art vendors, great food and live music, while also celebrating life on the water with bay cruises. The annual Kayak Run encourages everyone to launch from Town Dock on their personal watercraft and paddle around the bay, with rentals available for those who aren’t owners. Stone also highlights that Manorhaven is full of nonprofits and local organizations hosting events and providing services for the community.
Waterside restaurants and fine-dining French cuisine
Residents can stroll down Manorhaven Boulevard and Shore Road to explore the town’s restaurants and shops. Bosphorus Café Grill offers Turkish cuisine like fresh lavash bread, kababs and spicy feta. Nino’s Beach sits along the water, with big glass windows allowing visitors to look out over the bay and docks. It offers many seafood dishes, including a raw bar, and makes all its pasta fresh in-house. Over in Port Washington, La Petite Framboise serves French dishes like escargot and offers a more high-end dining experience. Target and Stop and Shop are both within 1 mile of Manorhaven, located along Shore Road.
