Suburban living along Beaver Lake
Lakefront foliage and lily pads adorn Beaver Lake, the namesake body of water on the west side of this Maplewood suburb. Known for its outdoor recreation and convenient lifestyle, the Beaver Lake community combines suburban living with easy access to everyday essentials and major employers. Amenities like the Maplewood Nature Center, for hiking trails, and Sun Ray Shopping Center, for groceries, are less than a mile from this neighborhood. Home to the 3M Corporate Headquarters, one of the top ten conglomerates in the world, the Minnesota-based company is a heavy contributor to the St. Paul workforce and employs around 80,000 employees worldwide as of 2024. “There’s already a big draw into Beaver Lake,” says Peter Salazar, Realtor with Coldwell Banker Realty. “And 3M is world-renowned, increasing demand within the neighborhood.” With a distinguished school district, nearby urban amenities and a quick 5-mile commute into St. Paul, Beaver Lake is not a community to overlook.

Traditional ramblers and multi-family townhouses
The real estate market in "Beaver Lake is a desirable neighborhood with entry-level price points,” says Salazar, who has been selling in the area for over 6 years. “New homes with updated amenities often receive multiple offers.” Housing styles range from manufactured homes to ramblers, Cape Cods and two-story Traditionals. With a median sales price of $325,000, homes here cost $100,000 less than the average property in the Minneapolis Metro Area. For example, prices range from as low as $100,000 for a two-bedroom manufactured home to upwards of $600,000 for a five-bedroom newly constructed traditional. Some homes even have waterfront views of Beaver Lake and are likely to reflect higher price points. Multi-family townhouses and condos are also available here and range from $100,000 for a two-bedroom condo to upwards of $400,000 for a three-bedroom townhouse. Homes also often feature small lawns and paved driveways leading to attached multi-car garages. Major thoroughfares here lead to hubs of residential areas with low-speed limits for increased safety and walkability throughout the neighborhood.
