Masontown is a small-town community next to a city
In Masontown, the rolling green landscape of Fayette County unfolds into rustic suburbia. This borough is full of quiet residential blocks lined with well-kept classic homes and well-manicured lawns. Residents here have access to a sampling of nearby retail and dining amenities and are just about a dozen miles from Uniontown, the seat of Fayette County. “It has a small-town feel, with being 10 minutes from Uniontown,” says local Realtor Crystal Rose of Park Place Realty Group LLC.
Ranch and traditional-style homes in Masontown
Most of the homes in Masontown were built over the course of the 20th century, though Rose says that a few new builds are scattered around the area. “Masontown has a mix of ranch-style and traditional two-story homes,” says Rose, who is based in nearby Washington County. Houses here stretch about 1,300 square feet on average, and fill lots that range from about 5,600 square feet to almost half an acre. Some of the properties here come with views of the hills in the distance. Masontown’s homes tend to come with price tags that start around $70,000 and can reach around $200,000 on the high end, depending on the condition and lot size.

Local spots to grab a bite at
For a small area, Masontown has several spots where residents can grab a good bite to eat. Dolfi’s is one of the popular picks, an Italian restaurant whose pizza is well-liked as well as its wings. Betty Mae’s Bakery is another local favorite. As the name suggests, Betty Mae’s Bakery produces all sorts of sweets, from cookies to cannolis. But Betty Mae’s also makes breakfast platters, breakfast sandwiches, burgers, soups and more. Those with a home-cooked meal mind can head to Howards Market, whose selection of fresh meats is acclaimed. There’s a Dollar General nearby as well, convenient for other essentials.
