A distinctive riverside city on the northern reaches of Kentucky, Maysville is a tight-knit community parked just below the Ohio River. There’s the newer houses and development [on the west side], and then you've got the older side down by the river,” says Robin Roseberry, a Realtor with Howard Hanna Real Estate Services. Roseberry has sold homes in the Maysville area and Kentucky for more than 20 years. “It’s a really friendly place, people are very nice. A lot of folks are born and raised in town, [and] they like that it’s on the smaller side.”

“For the stores and the restaurants, there’s more mom and pop stuff downtown, and then you’ve got more of the chains up on the hill. Walmart, Kroger, Applebee's and Bob Evans, all the fast food places, all that’s over there,” Roseberry says. Specialty shops on the east side of town include Hardymons Home and Hardware, a store with more than 150 years of local history, and Apron Strings Quilt Shop. Everyday needs are available at IGA Supermarket and Family Dollar.
Mainstream shopping options like Kroger, Marshalls and Ross are available along AA Highway on the west side of town. Employers with a large presence in Maysville include Stober, Mitsubishi Electric and G&J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers.

A 1-hour drive to Cincinnati or Lexington
Traveling by bike is a viable option for local trips in the downtown area, but most folks rely on cars to get around. Major roads in Maysville include U.S. Highway 62, U.S. Highway 68 and Kentucky Routes 10 and 11. Residents traveling northwest to Cincinnati can expect a 61-mile drive, while Lexington is about 67 miles southwest. For medical emergencies, Meadowview Regional Medical Center is on the west side of town near AA Highway/Kentucky Route 9.
Residents traveling beyond the Commonwealth can catch flights from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, about 66 miles northwest of the city.
