Mercer County Grange Fair and more annual summer events

Local veterans and active military personnel parade down Market Street on patriotic floats, vintage cars and motorcycles at the annual Memorial Day 500 Parade. In mid-July, the Mercer County Grange Fair is a widely attended annual event with farm animal shows, carnival rides, live music and a huge firework show to finish off the week-long festival. Historic homes on Market Street

Colonial Revivals, historic and ranch-style homes are packed neatly on narrow lots along the residential streets surrounding Courthouse Square. On Market Street, American flags decorate the full-width front porches of Historic American Foursquares and Craftsmen homes. These houses were built at the turn of the 20th century and usually list between $100,000 and $200,000. Similarly priced ranch-style homes were built during the 1970s and feature paved driveways with attached 1-car garages. Newer ranch-style homes built in the early 2000s are settled on half-acre pine-shaded lots in Mercer’s more rural areas. These wonderfully secluded homes generally cost around $300,000. More single-family homes with waterfront views and wooden boat docks sit on one-acre properties around Lake Latonka and can cost upwards of $700,000.
