"Many people familiar with Middleburg and haven't been here in a while picture it as this little town where nothing happens. It's completely different now. Roads have been improved in many areas. There are highways that weren't here before," Kinney says. Residents can use the First Coast Expressway for part of the 33-mile drive to downtown Jacksonville, which also takes them along Interstate 10. When fully completed, the expressway will be a 46-mile highway that passes through parts of Duval, Clay and St. John's counties. Residents can also use public transit in Middleburg, which has a JTA bus route that takes them north to Orange Park. The community has multiple bus stops along Route 218 and Blanding Boulevard. The community has a major hospital, Ascension St. Vincent's Clay County. Middleburg is about 40 miles from Jacksonville International Airport.
