About 20 miles north of Memphis and to the east of the Mississippi River, Millington, Tennessee, is probably not the first place that comes to someone's mind that would have a naval history. But that is the story of this small bedroom community. The city’s Navy base was a training center for the Army Signal Corps during World War I and remains one of the city’s top employers. It offers plenty of outdoor recreation mixed with new residential and commercial developments. "We're just a typical southern town, the kind of place where high school athletics are big, and games are always well attended," says Dennis Wages, a resident and Realtor with Re/Max Right Way.
Millington is a community of 11,500 people, north of Memphis.
