Borchert Field was once home to Milwaukee’s minor league team
The name Borchert Field once referred to the home stadium for the Milwaukee Brewers, which stood on the city’s Northwest Side until it was demolished to make way for Interstate 43. Today, it’s the name of a neighborhood that’s home to over 3,700 people just a couple blocks from the ballfield’s former site. Borchert Field is a mainly residential set of gridded blocks, though its western section comprises a large cemetery. Some of the neighborhood’s sidewalk-lined streets are well-shaded thanks to dense tree cover, making for a pleasant walk around the block even on hotter days.
Borchert Field is known for it's baseball history, having once been the home of the Milwaukee Brewers, who played there from 1888 to 1953.
