Budget-friendly and close to downtown
Lindsay Park is an urban community with a suburban vibe. More than 4,500 Milwaukeeans call this neighborhood home, populating a large collection of homes mainly from the mid-20th century. While some street layouts are gridded, many are loosely winding and well-shaded due to an abundance of trees. The community is also very walkable. "People come here because it's a decent part of Milwaukee that's also affordable," says Aaron Gerakosov, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Realty, who recently sold two homes here. "I see it as up and coming and a good place for first-time homebuyers."
Single-story ranch-style homes are available throughout Lindsay Park.

Go to park to relax or play cricket
The 13-acre Lindsay Park offers many amenities, including picnic areas, a wading pool and a walking path; however, one of the park's biggest draws is its Astroturf cricket pitch, the first in Metro Milwaukee. The area is home to the Milwaukee Regal T20 Cricket League, where local teams, like the Milwaukee Panthers Cricket Club, compete from April to October every year. "When I moved here back in the mid-'90s, a lot of people in the community came from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, South Africa and New Zealand, but the one club in town didn't have enough space," says Panthers founder Rizwan Arshad. "I realized that people are interested in playing cricket, so why not give them another platform to experience the game they love so much? Now, there's about 12 teams in Milwaukee." The Panthers is also open to amateur players.

Midcentury ranch-style and Cape Cods are most common
Ranch-style homes (mainly brick) and modest Cape Cods are the most common single-family houses here; however, there are Colonial revivals and a few bungalows from the early 1900s. Lindsay Park also features several multi-family buildings, mostly two-story duplexes rented out by the owners. Yards are less than .2 acres, enough room for a small garden or gathering area, and most homes include detached garages. Prices here range from $131,000 to $332,000. Smaller houses with few or no renovations start in the low $100,000s. For a home with a larger floor plan, modern updates, and even a pool, a buyer is expected to pay closer to $300,000.

I most like the diversity. The neighborhood mirrors the greatness of our country by representing many ethnicities. We have the Hmong American Peace Academy K to 12 school and Lawrence Elementary. Lindsay Park provides the city's only Cricket Field. Lindsay Park has good transportation on several bus routes and major arterial streets and a close ride to the Oak Leaf Bike Trail. The homes are mostly single family with smaller well kept yards. They show their 60's style dating when this area was first populated.
