Up near Timmerman
As the locals like to say, Menomonee River Hills is "up near Timmerman," referring to the small county airport at the southern end of the neighborhood. Timmerman Airport caters to private and business travelers, so don't be surprised when a few small planes fly overhead. According to Realtor Holly Speranza of Keller Williams-MNS Wauwatosa, Menomonee River Hills is "an older, nicely established community. You often see people who have been there for thirty, forty, fifty years."
Neighborhood renovations
Many of the neighborhood's single-family houses have been renovated, bringing modernity to these one- and two-story homes. Colonial and ranch styles in the upper $100,000s and lower $200,000s are common sights, each on modest-sized lots in fairly close proximity. Overall, prices range from $129,000 to $437,000. Since Menomonee River Hills is 15 miles from downtown, residents enjoy a bit more breathing room than you would in the more densely populated Milwaukee neighborhoods.

Grabbing a bit around the corner
Locals head to ALDI for grocery shopping. Hungry residents can head to Hup's Pizza for a quick slice or to Culver's for a juicy burger. While Menomonee River Hills is fairly limited in its variety when it comes to amenities, Speranza reports that many residents appreciate the neighborhood's proximity to Wauwatosa, which "has a cute downtown that people like to visit." For more options, locals travel to Wauwatosa, where there are department stores, grocery stores and restaurants gracing the streets, making Menomonee River Hills' location that much more desirable.
