Many of the neighborhood's single-family houses have been renovated, bringing modernity to these one- and two-story homes. Students in Menomonee River Hills have a handful of schools to choose from. Elms Creative Arts Elementary School has an overall Niche grade of C-minus. Morse Middle School for the Gifted and Talented has a C-minus from Niche. Rufus King International High School, a public co-educational International Baccalaureate (IB) high school, has an A grade from Niche.

Because of the distance to downtown and not much access to public transportation, most residents depend on their cars to get to work. The commute to General Mitchell International Airport is a 23-mile drive.Grabbing a bit around the corner
Locals head to ALDI for grocery shopping. Hungry residents can head to Hup's Pizza for a quick slice or to Culver's for a juicy burger. While Menomonee River Hills is fairly limited in its variety when it comes to amenities, Speranza reports that many residents appreciate the neighborhood's proximity to Wauwatosa, which "has a cute downtown that people like to visit." For more options, locals travel to Wauwatosa, where there are department stores, grocery stores and restaurants gracing the streets, making Menomonee River Hills' location that much more desirable.

Lots of car care
O'Reilly Auto Parts sits in the southeastern part of the neighborhood, offering a free loaner tool program and brake rotor resurfacing in addition to part sales. Just down the street, the Milwaukee-Northwest DMV goes the extra mile to offer Saturday morning hours for locals to keep their licenses and registrations in order. Mechanically inclined car owners will appreciate On-Kaul Auto Salvage, where they can buy used car and truck parts for most makes and models.
