Bear Valley's subdivisions are near schools, shopping and parks
Home to Stoneridge Town Center and south of the 60 freeway, Bear Valley offers commuter convenience and access to retail. The neighborhood has several subdivisions and gated communities. "There are so many opportunities here. I've seen 10 communities built in the open land in the city," says 15-year resident Noah Villalobos, owner of Undercover Barbershop in Moreno Valley. He says seeing [the area] grow has been exciting. "Many people settled here and envisioned this as their home for a while. Everyone really wants to see Moreno Valley grow."
Revitalized basketball courts and nearby baseball fields
Sunnymead Park fills with families on game nights, home to youth leagues that pack the bleachers near the snack bar. "Many kids who come to my shop are involved in sports. There's lots of fields for football and soccer, too," Villalobos says. On Lasselle Street, Weston Park has a muraled basketball court built in 2021 with help from NBA professional Kawhi Leonard and local volunteers. On the east side, Rock Ridge Park is a 2-acre spot with a playground, walking trail and gazebos under tall palms. The Moreno Valley Senior Community Center on Fir Avenue holds free fitness and art classes and is adding a new building and outdoor space. Just 6 miles out, Lake Perris stretches across 8,800 acres with trails and sandy beaches.

The community's east side features Stoneridge Town Center, anchored by Target and Walmart Supercenter, with nearby gyms, banks and chain restaurants like Round Table Pizza and Alberto's Mexican Food. The west side has grocery stores, including Cardenas Market. Riverside is 12 miles away, and Villalobos says he likes to go there for the active nightlife and more developed shopping centers.

Environmental factors and risks of earthquakes
