A sought after suburb with flair
East Naperville is a consistently sought after suburb, thanks to being near downtown, highly ranked schools and aesthetic surroundings. "I would describe it as well-maintained, beautifully landscaped and with quiet residential roads," says Realtor Lori Johanneson with @properties. Indeed, other realtors note that this menu of amenities is pulling in new construction. This gives an otherwise traditionally seeming neighborhood some architectural flair, with builders not shying away from modern styles. Throw in proximity to parks and bike trails, and it makes East Naperville an appealing place for those who need a peaceful home space but also proximity to activity.

Modern farmhouses and luxury homes
Home prices tend to have quite a range, but owing to the neighborhood’s popularity, many homes on the market can be above the $1 million range. Still, it’s occasionally possible to find a home in the $450,000 range, such as a three-bed, two-bath ranch sitting on nearly an acre of land with mature trees. Most homes in the neighborhood feature spacious front yards dotted with trees, and paved driveways leading to garages that face the street or are tucked away to the side. There are some homes in the $795,000 range, too, such as five-bed, three-bath properties with a front porch, brick patio and inground pool in the backyard. Once homebuyers expand their search into the $1 million range, they’ll start to see some of that luxury new construction, which can have a modern farmhouse look or venture into a Craftsman style that mixes vinyl, steel and stone.

Naperville Plaza is conveniently located
Two supermarkets are next to each other, less than a mile away, just on the other side of Washington Street: Trader Joe’s and Casey’s Foods. The Naperville Plaza Shopping Center also has eateries, which range from casual to more of a sit-down experience. Colonial Café has a classic American coffee shop feel, with everything from ice cream to hamburgers on the menu. Deccan Spice feels more cosmopolitan, though, with a neon-lit bar, modern art on the walls and Indian cuisine that arrives with a colorful presentation.

Bounded by commercial corridors
Washington Street is a commercial corridor near the neighborhood’s southern border, and not only will residents use that for shopping and dining, but also for getting around greater Naperville. In the middle of East Naperville, running in an east-west direction, is Chicago Avenue. Most of the neighborhood’s residential streets feed into here, so this is how many residents will reach local destinations like parks or the country club. Route 34 is less than a mile north, and this offers more commercial amenities as well as a way to explore the greater Chicago area – it eventually connects with Interstate 88 and local Metra stations.
You can take Chicago Avenue from East Naperville to downtown Naperville.
East Naperville residents can find loads of retail along Washington Street.
