Laid-back life on the bluff
North Mankato is a town of 14,000, linked to Mankato by bridge over the Minnesota River. Primarily a bedroom community, the major draw here is accessibility and natural beauty. “You’re on a bluff, so there’s some beautiful scenery— the sunsets are amazing. Some of the properties have a view of the river as well,” says Candee Deichman, a Realtor with Century 21 Atwood Realty Inc. Deichman also mentions ease of travel with access to U.S. Route 14, which is necessary for most shopping and dining. The area also supports a highly rated school district and an array of parks.
