Walkable neighborhood close to shopping, dining and UC Berkeley
Along with its walkable, central location in Oakland and access to bustling next-door neighborhood Rockridge, the Fairview Park area has a perk that might surprise some: a college vibe, thanks to the nearby University of California, Berkeley. The prestigious university is just 2 miles north of Fairview Park, and many residents feel its influence. “You feel the nearness to Berkeley intellectualism in that whole area. You’ll be in a café and overhear a conversation about art history,” says David Gunderman, a broker associate and team leader of The Gunderman Group who has over 20 years of experience selling real estate in the Inner East Bay. He says the Fairview Park area has other perks, too. “You're in the Oakland side of the East Bay food scene, the whole area is super walkable, and you're close to world-class amenities."
