Hillside living near scenic East Bay parks
Tucked away in the Oakland Hills, Piedmont Pines is surrounded by some of the East Bay’s best-known parks and nature reserves. Residents live along winding, hillside roads that are walking distance from hiking trails, scenic overlooks and wild natural habitats. “It’s definitely for nature lovers. It’s for people who prefer hiking in the woods over walking to get a latte,” says Realtor Kerri Naslund-Monday of KW Advisors East Bay, who is a longtime Oakland resident.
While outdoor activities may be the biggest draw, it’s only a short drive to Oakland’s trendy commercial districts and local shopping districts like Montclair Village. “Anyone moving out here is looking to escape Oakland’s urbanism while still having it all close by. It’s just a hop, skip and a jump away,” says broker David Eckert of Coldwell Banker Realty, who has lived in and around Oakland for more than 30 years.
