Secluded small town in Willamette National Forest
Distant mountain peaks, covered bridges, friendly neighborhood restaurants and a sparkling river invite buyers to make Oakridge, Oregon their home. "It's a small town that's surrounded by the Willamette River and Willamette National Forest," says Realtor and outdoor enthusiast Dylan Faulconer with Willamette Properties Group. "There are tons of trails, and the area is known as the mountain biking capital of the Pacific Northwest." The community is located above the fog line but below the snow line, meaning the outdoors is accessible most of the year. The modest community is close to Eugene and Springfield, offering easy access when residents need to get more than just the basic necessities. However, Oakridge's community-centric schools, neighborhood stores and eateries make it so residents won't feel too remote.
Close to rivers, lakes and hundreds of acres of trails
The Willamette River is by far the community's biggest attraction. It's a go-to for fishing, kayaking and picnicking year-round. Willamette National Forest also surrounds the town, so residents can hike through forested trails, camp, fish, swim, ski, forage and visit waterfalls or hot springs. When residents want a lake day, they can head to Hills Creek Lake, just 5 miles from the community. Golf enthusiasts will love the proximity to Circle Bar Golf Club, while families will enjoy the playgrounds and picnic lawns of Oakridge Greenwaters Park.

Residents get groceries at Ray's Food Place and basic necessities at Dollar General. Another favorite for fresh local produce and goods is the Oakridge Community Farmers Market, which features foods and wares from Lane County farms and artisans. Residents can grab a cup of morning joe at Mane Street Coffee. When residents need a bite, they can head to favorites like Big Mountain Pizza, Three-legged Crane Pub and The Campfire.
