Hatrick Park is home to baseball and soccer facilities along with a covered picnic area and a mile of scenic nature trails. The Harris Nature Center is on the community’s east side along Van Atta Road, where locals can learn about local wildlife and walk along wooded paths.
Okemos residents are just a stone’s throw from ample shopping and dining options. The Meridian Mall houses nearly 100 eateries and retailers. Locals can pick up their groceries and other household essentials at Kroger, Target or Meijer. After a day of shopping, folks can visit Joe’s on Jolly, a casual local restaurant with classic pub fare items like fried pickle spears, fried chicken sandwiches and street tacos. Finish off the meal with a slice of cheesecake or an order of sticky toffee bread pudding. Pizza House is across the street from Michigan State’s campus and is a popular spot for savoring classic Chicago-style slices and Italian-inspired fare.
