Suburban Neighborhood in Omaha, Nebraska
Douglas County 68118
“Greenfield is a great neighborhood for families with kids,” says Christopher Johnson, Realtor with BHHS Ambassador Real Estate. “Even though it’s super close to schools, shopping and restaurants, it’s actually a private little neighborhood. There’s no through traffic, and it’s sheltered by huge, old hardwood trees." Anchored between West Dodge Street to the north and the adjoining neighborhoods of Pacific Meadows and Fountain Hills-Pacific Meadows, Greenfield offers a mix of late 20th-century architectural styles. Most homes were built in the 1980s and 1990s, so you’ll see many two-story New Traditionals, as well as expanded ranch-style homes with more than 2,200 square feet. An updated, four-bedroom New Traditional was listed for $355,000 in summer 2023, while sales of three-bedroom ranch-style homes in the first six months of the year ranged from $285,000 to $325,000. Most homes have finished basements and large backyards that provide quick access to popular West Papio Trail, which runs along the western edge of the neighborhood.
Kids can attend Aldrich Elementary, which offers pre-K through fifth grade and is ranked the 10th best public elementary school in Nebraska, according to Niche. Kiewit Middle has an A-rating from Niche, offers extensive athletics, and a notable roster of special interest clubs including jazz, robotics, leadership and art. Millard North High is the only high school in the district that offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program. It has also won the Blue-Ribbon Award from the U.S. Department of Education.
Greenfield homeowners have access to two nearby neighborhood parks, which makes it easy to walk your dog or take a run. Barrington Park offers 29 acres of walking trails, a playground, tennis courts and plenty of open space. Pacific Meadows Park offers basketball courts, biking trails, a playground and tennis courts.
Well-regarded dining options are a short drive from home. Vincenzo’s Ristorante has been around since 1993 and has won many local awards for authenticity and consistency. Try their Tortellini Bianco or their Linguine Tutto Mare. They also offer several gluten-free and vegetarian options. Nearby Pan Asian Terrace is a bright and airy restaurant with a cozy bar and an eye-catching list of Vietnamese and Pan Asian soups, appetizers and seasonal specialties. If you like hot and spicy, try their Golden Crispy Shrimp.
Whether you’re decorating, dining, or just dishing with friends, shopping destinations surround Greenfield in every direction, and they’re all close at hand. To-a-T Gifts & Goodies offers cards, coffee mugs, gourmet gift baskets, sweet treats and souvenirs. Mainstream Boutique, a family-owned multi-generational women’s clothing store, is known for its on-trend fashions and reasonable prices. Village Pointe is an open-air shopping, dining and entertainment destination on 157th Street. Big brands including Apple, lululemon and Coach bring shoppers from near and beyond Omaha. Restaurants Kona Grill and Firebirds stay busy as do The Funny Bone Comedy Club and the Marcus Theatres.
HyVee on 180th and Pacific Street offers responsibly sourced meats and seafood as well as groceries with an emphasis on fresh and healthy. When you settle into your new home Target has the essentials you’ll need including groceries, kitchen and bath items and small appliances.
West Omaha neighborhoods offer family-centered communities with terrific access to nearby schools, restaurants and shopping. And while you’ll be wrapped in the convenience of well-planned suburbia, you’re still less than a 20-minute drive to the buzz of trendy downtown Omaha. You could say that Greenfield comes pretty close to offering you the best of both worlds.
