A small community in west Omaha
Spanning a square mile from 132nd Street to 144th Street and West Center Street to Pacific Street, Montclair, Tendwood, Parkside and Georgetown are four smaller subdivisions known throughout the rest of Omaha as MTPG. The subdivisions share the MTPG Neighborhood Association, which was formed in 1996 and offers community events for residents. The community is in a prime location in west Omaha. “When we moved here 11 years ago, we wanted to get into this neighborhood for the school district, but we quickly found out it was so much more,” says Allison Kinney-Walker, the President of the MTPG Neighborhoods Association. “It is such a strong community. People are helpful and neighborly. We fell in love with the mature landscapes and the ability to walk to places when we want.”
The majority of Montclair Trendwood Parkside is residential on quiet streets with large trees.
The playground at Parkside Park is a hidden gem along a quiet paved trail.

Older housing inventory under mature landscape
MTPG features a slightly older housing inventory than the rest of west Omaha. Underneath the shade of mature trees and sidewalks line the white-washed streets of the neighborhood. A collection of split levels with two-car garages, ranch homes and Colonial Revivals are perched on well-kept lots that provide space from neighbors. Buyers can expect a four-bedroom ranch house to sell for approximately $325,000, while a four-bedroom Colonial Revival could rise to around $385,000. “I like the diversity of experience in the neighborhood. We have people who might be retired and have raised their families here, lots of young families and a range of professional experiences, and I think that is unique,” Kinney-Walker says.
Many updated split-level homes can be found in Montclair Trendwood Parkside.
Larger two-story split-level homes are also a popular style in Montclair Trendwood Parkside.

Learning in the A-rated Millard Public Schools
The neighborhoods are districted for Millard Public Schools, which grades an A on Niche and is ranked as the second-best district in Nebraska on the site. The path for students is the same, and they can walk to Montclair Elementary, which scores a B-plus, and attend the A-minus-rated Millard North Middle and Millard North High School. Millard North scores an A, and all high school students can earn college credit and professional credentials in various academies, including health sciences, business and entrepreneurship, business and logistics management, education and STEM.

Staying active at the Montclair Community Center
Right next to Montclair Elementary School, the Montclair Community Center, managed by the city, is a place for neighbors and the rest of Omaha. The community center features a dedicated space for seniors, an indoor gym, an indoor pool, and a small outdoor green space with a playground. Trendwood Park is the largest park in the area, and residents can use its playground, shoot some hoops on the basketball court or take a stroll on the path. Parkside Park is a 15-acre park, and the neighborhood association is trying to raise funds to help build a new playground at the almost hidden green space off Pine Street.
Residents can swim, exercise, play pickleball, and more at Montclair Community Center.
The Montclair Community Center is a neighborhood hotspot with activities for all ages.

Shopping malls and cofee shops
The neighborhood is just north of the Oak View Mall, which has been open in the community since 1991. The two-story shopping center has 104 tenants, including JCPenny and Dillard’s. Residents can head either east or west out of MTPG to find multiple shopping centers, each flanked by grocery stores. To the west, residents can find a Family Fare in the Harvey Oaks Shopping Center and to the east, they can find an Aldi at the corner of West Center Road and South 132nd Street. That corridor is also a hot spot for restaurants. Zen Coffee Company West is a popular coffee shop that also serves breakfast. “It is so popular; there is always a line, and every time I go in, the tables are filled,” Kinney Walker says. Other restaurant options include the Nebraska and Iowa chain Runza and national chains like Outback.

Small community events hosted by the MTPG Neighborhood Association
The MTPG Neighborhood Association drives community gatherings and multiple events yearly. Some more popular events include the Fourth of July Parade, which usually extends into smaller cookouts, National Night Out, where the neighborhood association brings in food trucks, and the Back to School Bash, held at Montclair Elementary School and the adjoining Montclair Community Center. Unofficially, Halloween is very popular in the neighborhood as neighbors decorate their houses
Prime location in west Omaha
With its southern border of Center Street, MTPG is in a prime location in the western portion of Omaha as the road heads east toward downtown. Commuters can take the Omaha Metro Bus line and use Route 15 – Center Street to get around town. The neighborhood is also less than 5 miles from the CHI Health Lakeside Hospital, an acute care facility that has 157 beds and offers emergency services.
