The Village of Pine Run provides an escape from the fast-paced center of Port Orange and the lively tourist attraction of the beach, but residents remain close to all the surrounding area’s adventures. “You’re far enough away from the city, but there’s still plenty of things to do,” says Gina Sweringen, resident and Realtor with Adams Cameron & Co. The area allows access to moderately rated public schools, a world-class performance venue, miles of sand along the Atlantic, thousands of acres of parkland and the Daytona International Speedway. Residents also enjoy living within a short drive of several local restaurants.

Beaches and greenspaces

Residents travel 7 ½ miles to access Ormond’s sandy beaches along the Atlantic coastline. Folks also enjoy access to Bulow Creek State Park, which protects over 5,600 acres. The park is home to the 400-year-old Fairchild Oak, which was already two centuries old when the Second Seminole War raged across the land in the 1830s. Residents also take advantage of Tomoka State Park, 4 miles from the Village of Pine Run. Bird watchers can spend hours from sunrise to sunset looking for any of the over 160 species that inhabit the area during the spring and fall migrations. Native wild coffee plants grow beneath the oak canopies. “Being so close to Tomoka State Park was a major draw for why I moved into the area,” Sweringen says.
