A rural enclave located between Charlottesville and Richmond
Between Charlottesville and Richmond, Zion Crossroads is a rural community in Fluvanna County with quick access to major highways. The community was created in 1934 when a crossroad formed between the new U.S. Route 250 and the already existing U.S. Route 15. The sleepy intersection housed a motel, gas station and restaurant until the opening of Interstate 64 in the 1970s gave new life to the area. The neighborhood is positioned for those looking to commute for work and take advantage of Virginia’s recreation opportunities. “What drew me to this area was that I can go to the mountains if I want, but I’m also not that far from the ocean,” says Genevieve Reilly, a Realtor with Long & Foster Lake Monticello, who’s been selling homes in the area since 2016. “It’s a nice middle point.”
