Midcentury ranch-style homes are organized along circular streets on the neighborhood’s south side. Designed by Joseph Eichler, these homes are known for their midcentury modern design elements, including large windows and open floor plans. “Eichler is an iconic California designer,” Hawkins says. “Many of those homes were inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright with great integration of indoor and outdoor spaces.” Eichler-style homes are in high demand; those within Fairmeadow rarely go on the market and when they do, they sell after an average of 14 days compared to the national average of 48 days. Front yards are decorated with low-water plants, palms and oak trees, and the limited amount of through traffic keeps the area quiet. The neighborhood has a CAP Index Crime Score of 2, compared to a national score of 4.Residents visit Mitchell Park for accessible playgrounds and athletic courts
