Hiking on Pleasanton Ridge
Outdoor recreation is always within reach in Pheasant Ridge. Fawn Hills Park has a walking path, basketball court and playground, all in the center of the neighborhood. Cubby’s Dog Park offers a fenced-in area on Pheasant Ridge’s north end. The Marilyn Kane Trail begins in Pheasant Ridge and winds its way behind backyards parallel to a small stream. The two-mile trail leads to Bernal Community Park, which has baseball diamonds, a large playground and community woodlands, all next to the Stanford Medicine Sports Complex. There are a few hiking trails west of the neighborhood. Ridgeline Trail is about 3 miles west along Pleasanton Ridge. It overlooks Pleasanton and is considered a challenging hike. Courdet Trail is about 2 miles away and covers some of the same hilly terrain as Ridgeline Trail. The Club at Castlewood, a country club, is just outside the neighborhood. It offers two courses, a clubhouse and tennis courts.

Interstate 680 runs along the east side of Pheasant Ridge and leads 30 miles south to San Jose and 30 miles northwest to Oakland via Interstate 580. The Oakland International Airport is about 25 miles away, and the San Ramon Regional Medical Center is 11 miles away. The Pleasanton BART Station, which connects the neighborhood to Oakland and San Francisco, is about 4 miles north.
