Locals Farm Market is known for its soups, sandwiches and “dessert all day” menu, which consists of tempting milkshakes and the restaurant’s signature bread pudding. Most residents drive to Harris Teeter in Darnestown, about 10 miles away, for groceries.

The Montgomery County commute
Route 107 cuts an east-to-northwest path through town, connecting Poolesville to Dawsonville and the Potomac River. The road transforms into Fisher Avenue as it approaches the town center. The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) connects Poolesville to Shady Grove on its 76 Bus route, and most of the stops are on Fisher and Wootton Avenues. From Shady Grove station, commuters can transfer to the Washington Metro system for the ride into Washington, D.C. Folks who prefer to drive can reach the city in about an hour. The 55-mile drive to Baltimore takes a bit longer, about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
The Montgomery County Bus System is extremely reliable and has stops nearly everywhere.
