While the nearby resort town of Coeur d'Alene is known for its lakefront parks and beaches, the suburban city of Post Falls boasts miles of waterfront along the Spokane River. It’s not walkable, but maybe a 10-minute drive. You can go float the river, and there are a lot of riverfront parks,” says Michelle Rene, an associate broker with Windermere Coeur d’Alene Realty, who has sold multiple homes in the area. “It also happens to be much closer to Spokane if you have someone commuting to the Spokane area. Some professions pay higher in Washington, so it’s not uncommon for people to work in Washington but want to live in Idaho.”
