Century old architecture and multi-family options

Victorians-style homes, bungalows, and Federal-inspired builds line the streets of Mount Hope, most built between the 1890s and 1930s. “There’s a nice collection of older single-family and multi-family homes,” says Mary Shawcross, a Realtor with HomeSmart Professionals who specializes in older homes and has lived in Mount Hope since 2000. “A lot of clapboard architecture with porches.” Many older homes blend period character with modern updates such as renovated kitchens and updated interiors, and most feature fenced-in back yards. Single-family homes start in the mid-$300,000s and reach around $1.1 million, with prices increasing alongside square footage and recent renovations. Multi-family investment properties range from the low-$600,000s to around $1.5 million, while condos and townhouses can go from the mid-$200,000s to the mid-$600,000s.
