Peaceful suburban living in Kavala Ranch

Kavala Ranch is a master-planned Rancho Cordova community 20 miles outside of Sacramento. With neighborhood parks and a reputable public school district, Kavala Ranch has become a desirable destination for young families who have children. “This is a bedroom community, and it’s very residential and family friendly,” says Harold Frink, who is the founder of Prime Focus Realty and has over 25 years of experience. “People here usually commute to their jobs in the city or in Sacramento. The stable job market also helps with real estate value, and homes here show appreciation.” Partly due to the area’s residential character, residents often have to venture outside the community for shopping, entertainment and public transit.

The community is about 2 miles north of California state Route 16, which can be used to access Sacramento, about 20 miles away. Sacramento International Airport is about 40 miles northwest via Interstate 5, and Mercy General Hospital is about 15 miles away in downtown Sacramento. Mather Airport is northwest of the area. “Mather Airport is a decommissioned Air Force base, but the government still has contract services with the airport, so you’ll see military jets flying in for fuel or maintenance. It’s also a shipping hub for FedEx and UPS,” Frink says. “People here usually get excited because they can sit in their backyards while the airport does the annual California Capital air shows in spring.”
