Rancho Dominguez has its own identity apart from neighboring areas
Rancho Dominguez is a South Bay community in the thick of things: between Compton, Long Beach and Carson. But according to Stephen Lambert, a Realtor with West Shores Realty, "It's like a whole different area." He says that the community's identity is distinct from its neighbors. There's a shared history, though. You can learn about it at the Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum, a California Historical Landmark circa 1826.

Residents own their manufactured homes but lease the land they sit on
A variety of manufactured homes, dating from the 1970s and on, have prices ranging from about $140,000 for a two-bedroom model to $275,000 for a four-bedroom version. Carports come standard. “You're in the city, but getting really good prices, compared to other parts of LA,” Lambert says. Small yards with fruit trees, patios and storage sheds might set your property apart. In these complexes, you would own the dwelling but lease the land. Monthly fees are typically over $1,000 a month. You’ll find guard-gated communities with amenities like club houses, pools, exercise and sports facilities and even a 24-hour convenience store. All ages of residents are represented in the area, making it a prime pick for families.

Heading to Carson for shopping and Long Beach for restaurants
Lambert says that residents are most likely to go to Carson for shopping. "That's where there will be variety." There are many breakfast items to choose from at Happy Boy Grill, whether you go with dine-in or drive-thru. Eateries in nearby Long Beach are sure to please. Hop on a stool at Black Ring Coffee and order a brew or head to Rocco's Deli Italiano for signature sandwiches and plenty of pasta dishes.

Employers in the community, plus commutes via interstates 710 and 405
There’s a large selection of companies and industrial businesses here; giving residents employment opportunities close to home. If you do need to commute, major thoroughfares close to home include interstates 710 and 405. “It’s close to multiple freeways. wherever you're going, north, south, east or west,” Lambert says. Downtown LA and LAX are each about 20 miles away, and you can reach the sand of Long Beach within a 10-mile drive.
