Tiny community surrounded by nature
Located 13 miles east of Kent, Ravensdale is a small community of 555 residents. The residential section is sandwiched between two woodsy areas with trails and natural habitats. “It’s very rural; people go out there for privacy or the ability to have acreage at a reasonable price,” says Todd Huizenga, broker at KW Mountains to Sound Realty. Despite its rustic character, the neighborhood is still close to major employers and everyday needs. “It’s removed from the hustle and bustle but close to many up-and-coming municipal amenities,” says Huizenga.
Large custom homes on spacious lots
Ravensdale is a quiet bedroom community of mostly single-family homes. “It has many custom builds and a traditional set of homes from the 1970s,” Huizenga says. Trees and fencing separate houses from one another, and prices tend to be lower compared to some surrounding areas. “I would say it's more affordable for the acreage than Issaquah. Most homes are an acre size or up to 5 to 10 acres,” Huizenga adds. Buyers will find variations of ramblers and contemporary single-family houses with a mix of backdrops; the north side of the neighborhood has taller trees separating neighbors and more acreage, whereas the south end is more suburban with manicured landscaping, limited trees and uniform-looking homes. Prices range from $450,000 to $500,000 for rambler homes under 1,500 square feet and $1.2 million to $2.1 million for custom builds on several acres.
Contemporary homes in Ravensdale fetch the highest prices out of its architectural styles.
While there are many contemporary homes in Ravensdale, some constructions date to the 70s.
