Midcentury to modern ranch-style homes
In a small pocket of Panorama along Lake Boulevard to the east, modest homes sit closely together. Styles vary from 1940s wood siding homes in good condition for around $270,000 to stucco homes constructed in 2016 asking $370,000. Homes are in various stages of renovation, some needing TLC while others are nicely maintained. In the rest of Panorama, properties are connected by sidewalks and landscaped with flowering trees and rock gardens. Single-level homes, primarily built in the 1970s and 1980s, range from $310,000 to $490,000. Back decks offer long-range nature views.

Lake Redding Park and Caldwell Park along the Sacramento River
Lake Redding Park is just a 7-minute, 4-mile drive south from central Panorama. At Lake Redding Park, locals enjoy a gazebo overlooking the Sacramento River, horseshoe pits and a colorful playground. Hikers and bikers enter into miles of Sacramento River Trail scenery at the park as well. Caldwell Park connects to Lake Redding Park, offering an indoor rec center, outdoor aquatic center and a boat ramp for kayakers to head out onto the Sacramento River.

A-grade public schools and nearby Shasta College campus
Public school kids attend Redding STEM Academy, given a Niche A-minus, from kindergarten through eighth grade. Older kids advance to A-grade Shasta High, which features a new space program that allows students to interact with NASA experts. Rocky Point Charter School, given a Niche B-minus, is within the Panorama neighborhood, and any student within Shasta County can apply for admission. The Health Sciences University Center of Shasta College, offering nursing and dental hygiene programs, is only a 9-minute, 4-mile drive south of the heart of Panorama. "Shasta College's main campus on Old Oregon Trail has been a mainstay for business and agriculture since the 1960s," says Peter Griggs, marketing and communications and public relations director for Shasta College. "But our newer Health Sciences campus that we opened in 2007 offers Bachelor of Science and associate degrees in an array of medical and dental specialties."

May rodeo, July fireworks
Redding residents love the four-day Redding Rodeo, held every May at the Redding Rodeo Grounds, about 3 miles south of Panorama. Every Fourth of July, the Redding Civic Auditorium Grounds, just across the street from the Rodeo Grounds, lights up with spectacular Freedom Festival fireworks.Lake Boulevard border connects to major highways
Panorama residents can quickly connect with Interstate 5 in less than two miles via the neighborhood's eastern Lake Boulevard border, which meets Highway 299. For those preferring public transit, Redding Area Bus Authority stops line Lake Boulevard. Redding Regional Airport is a 12-mile, 20-minute drive south.Casual spots for wings, tacos and ice cream
Wing Spot opened in 2022 on Lake Boulevard and is the neighborhood spot for game days and casual dinners out with family or friends. Groceries are convenient at Raley's on Lake Boulevard, just 2 miles south of central Panorama. Right next door to Raley's, Raliberto's Taco Shop serves a menu of Mexican favorites in a small space. The Raley's Shopping Center also houses a Baskin-Robbins and hair salon.
