Downtown Redwood City
Broadway is the anchor of Downtown Redwood City's shopping district
Downtown Redwood City’s shopping district is centered around Broadway and fans out between Main Street and El Camino Real. The open-air district is full of popular retailers like the Grocery Outlet, Savers and Barnes & Noble. It is also home to dozens of eateries, including Sushi Shin, a Michelin-star-rated Japanese and sushi restaurant. For something more low-key, residents can choose from dozens of cafes and casual eateries, including The Sandwich Spot, which boasts 43 sandwich options, nearly two dozen beers on tap, and a nighttime hookah menu.Condos and apartments dominate the neighborhood
Downtown Redwood City mostly has apartments and condos to offer. Studio units for sale can range from between $1 million and $5.8 million, while one- to four-bedroom units tend to sit around $2 million. Single-family homes can be found in adjacent neighborhoods. These small craftsman cottages and midcentury homes can range from $880,000 to $2 million. Homes in the area are moving quickly, largely because the inventory across the bay area is limited. “The turnaround is about 21 days,” Pappalardo says.Redwood City hosts the largest Fourth of July parade in northern California

The celebration culminates with a fireworks show over the port of Redwood City later that evening. Five times a year, residents can also attend local art fairs in Courthouse Square. There are four Art on the Square events in the summer and one around the holiday season.Roselli Mini-Park is the most substantial recreation ground in downtown Redwood City

Residents looking for a park with more amenities can head about 1 mile east to Hoover Park. It spans over 10 acres and offers sports facilities, picnic areas, a playground and a swimming pool. The city is also about 4 miles from hiking trails in large natural areas such as Edgewood Park and Pulgas Ridge. For indoor fun, residents can explore the San Mateo County History Museum or catch a show at the historic Fox Theater in the heart of downtown’s shopping district.Downtown Redwood City is the halfway point between San Francisco and San Jose

Kaiser Permanente Redwood City Medical Offices sits just to the north of the city’s shopping district. On the other end of the shopping district sits Redwood City Station.
