Local and national shopping and dining options along Hull Street Road
Bordered on one side by Hull Street Road, U.S. Route 360, Swanson residents have easy access to a wealth of shopping and eating options. Some of the best street-style tacos in town can be found at Taqueria TATI, an unassuming food truck permanently parked next to an auto body shop. For pastries and freshly baked bread, residents rave about Panadería El Globo, a Mexican bakery celebrated for its sweet bread and homemade pies. Food Lion and Family Dollar are within walking distance, but a lack of sidewalks in the neighborhood makes driving the preference.

Midcentury homes sit alongside new builds
Swanson has four primary home styles: 20th century ranches, split-levels and Cape Cods, and colonial-inspired contemporary builds. Most homes sit on modest lots, though homebuyers can find larger ones on Hodges Road. Older homes with two- to four-bedrooms range from $190,000 to $270,000, while three- to five-bedroom new builds range from $300,000 to $400,000. According to Katrina Young, an associate broker with US Realty On, the inventory in the neighborhood is "medium" but moving at a steady pace. "You know, COVID made it crazy, and houses were going in 24 hours," she says. "Now that the market has slowed down, it's still a steady move, so I would say the most… 35 to 45 days is the longest I've seen homes on the market before sold."
