Beauty on every corner in Victoria
Named after Queen Victoria, Riverside’s Victoria neighborhood is full of pristine architecture, natural beauty and quality recreation sites that make residents feel like royalty. One site that combines all those features is the local golf course, the Victoria Club. “The golf course is a big draw to the neighborhood. It’s a really popular club,” says Katie Aaron, a Realtor with Keller Williams Corona who has sold homes in Victoria. “All the high schools around here practice at the Victoria Club.” The hilly, winding streets of the neighborhood stretch south from the golf course, giving way to well-kept homes that have stood for half a century. Residents have access to shopping and dining within the area and even more destinations just a short drive away, making Victoria as convenient as it is aesthetically pleasing.

Victoria's midcentury homes stand the test of time
Wide midcentury modern and ranch-style homes line the streets in Victoria, along with the occasional Cape Cod or Colonial Revival home scattered throughout. “These are midcentury modern homes, but most have been updated and remodeled. The architecture is usually maintained, so they’ll keep features like original wood beams,” says Aaron. Houses typically range from 1,000 to 4,200 square feet, with large lots and plenty of yard space for residents. Most homes have driveways; built-in garages are rare, but many houses have detached garages or carports. Mature trees—including oaks, palms and sycamores—tower over the neighborhood streets, providing shade and natural beauty. Many homes have detailed landscaping on the front lawns, including stone walkways, shrubs, bushes and flowers. Houses in Victoria cost between $500,000 and $800,000.

Nature lovers can head to Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Park, about 4 miles west on Central Avenue. This 1,500-acre park features miles of hiking and biking trails and is home to several species of wildlife. The park is one of eight protected core reserves for the endangered Stephen’s Kangaroo Rat. Golf lovers will enjoy teeing off at the Victoria Club, a private par-72 golf course in the neighborhood’s northern end. This country club features several water hazards set amongst mature stone pines and oak trees. Members also have access to tennis courts, a swimming pool and a fitness center.

I live in the heart of the city but not as if it were down town. I am sure crime exsist and there is a conceern for safety (as anywhere) however it is not blatantly unsafe to walk by yourself at night. Street lights are lite and people are always out and about, especially near the main roads.

There is a long sidewalk/jogging path alongside of Victoria Ave. where most of the health conscience people can be seen regularly enjoying an evening stroll or a morning run.
