High Falls, the tallest waterfall in Rochester along the Genesee River, is east of the neighborhood. A state park to increase public access to the waterfall and the river gorge is in the works. “It’s beneficial for people’s physical, mental and emotional well-being to get outside, and we want this to be a park for everyone,” says Helen Dumas, director of urban engagement at the Genesee Land Trust.

Bitter Honey serves Mexican cuisine underneath a scraggly red neon sign. People sit outside and order piles of nachos and mezcal cocktails.
Inner Loop and downtown Rochester are nearby
The neighborhood sits north of Rochester’s Inner Loop, a freeway that circles around downtown. The Inner Loop merges with Interstate 490 and U.S. Route 31, linking Marketview Heights to Buffalo and Syracuse. Downtown Rochester, and amenities like the Strong Museum of Play or moviehouse the Little Theatre, is minutes away.
