Just beside the O’Hare International Airport and a 30-minute Metra ride to downtown Chicago, Rosemont is a bustling suburb with low housing inventory and plenty of things to do. Residents can access various local restaurants, world-class shopping at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago, highly rated schools and some of Chicago’s top entertainment. “It’s an absolutely suburban setting in the middle of everything,” says April Kibler, who’s sold real estate in Chicago since 2004. Since single-family options are limited, the market moves quickly, with buyers vying to own ample land in this active suburb of Chicago. For buyers who are lucky enough to get a piece of the pie, “It’ll be the last house you live in,” Kibler says. “Because you have no reason to leave.”

Act fast for Rosemont’s single-family housing
Single-family housing is limited in Rosemont, as most of the housing in the neighborhood is multi-family. As Kibler says, “You are a lucky duck if you can grab a house there.” Single-family options are typically single-story brick ranch-style homes, often with ample front and back yards. Multi-family units usually belong to small standalone buildings with six or so units, or there are some larger condo complexes in the neighborhood, some with amenities like pools, playgrounds and picnic areas. The market moves relatively quickly here, with sales occurring after an average of 32 days on the market. The median price in Rosemont is about $200,000 overall and just over $500,000 for a single-family home. Inventory is low, so buyers interested in this neighborhood, especially in single-family housing, should keep an eye on listings.
