Pleasant Grove

Pocket parks and an 18-hole golf course
Misty Wood Park, the neighborhood’s only park, is found in the southeastern end, and includes a playground surrounded by a metal fence, along with a multi-use field for relaxing or playing fetch with the pups. Kids can organize a pick-up basketball game on the half-court here, then join friends for a barbecue at the picnic areas. Toward the western part of the neighborhood, Woodcreek Golf Club is an 18-hole public course course that also offers lessons and stages tournaments. It's also home to the Legends Bar and Grill, which serves up burgers, brews and live music.Several recreational areas sit just outside of the neighborhood, including 43-acre Blue Oaks Park to the west. Dirt-packed and paved trails weave throughout the park’s wooded sections; a soccer field and a kids’ rock-climbing area are also found here. Silverado Oaks Park is to the south, and features a basketball court, bucket swings and a covered picnic area.
Burgers and microbrews at Porter’s House of Draft
Family-owned Porter’s House of Draft, which is located in the neighborhood's Woodcreek Plaza shopping center, serves handhelds like burgers and tacos, along with microbrews. Trivia nights are hosted here, and Wednesdays are wine days. Across the street is Los Cabos Grill and Cantina, a counter service eatery offering Tex-Mex fare. Grocery stores include Nugget Markets north of the neighborhood and Raley’s to the south, while department stores like Marshalls are found further east across Interstate 80. The Galleria shopping mall has over 130 stores to browse, and boutiques and gift shops can be found downtown.New traditional homes with homeowners associations
Most of the homes in Pleasant Grove are located within gated communities. Heritage Oaks, south of Pleasant Grove Boulevard, offers new traditional Craftsman-style homes with Mediterranean and Spanish Revival-style elements. Built during the late 1990s, these homes sit along sidewalk-lined cul-de-sacs and typically feature cross-gabled tile roofs, stucco exteriors and up to three-car garages; lawns are well-manicured with at least one mature oak tree. Prices range from $600,000 to $845,000, and residents here must join the homeowners association, which costs $194 per month. Other gated areas include Kensington Greens near the Woodcreek Golf Course. Homes here have similar architectural styles to Heritage Oaks, though larger lots and more square footage. Many have four bedrooms with driveways for two cars and an RV. Prices range from $715,000 to $1 million.Scholarship opportunities at Woodcreek High School
"One of the biggest draws for this area is the excellent school system," says Spencer Smith, Realtor with Nick Sadek Sotheby's International Realty, who’s been selling for over 13 years. Local kids may attend Dry Creek Joint Elementary district schools, including Quail Glen, which earns an A-minus from Niche, and integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) into its curriculum. Silverado Middle, which earns a B-plus, focuses on meeting students’ social and emotional needs. Within the Roseville Joint Union High School District, A-rated Woodcreek High offers the California Scholarship Federation club. Here, students can gain leadership experience through community service, and earn money for college.Transit services, Interstate 80 and bike lanes
While there is bus service here and designated bike lanes parallel main thoroughfares, most people rely on their cars to get around. Interstate 80 sits about 5 miles southeast of the neighborhood, which leads 20 miles to downtown Sacramento, while the Roseville Bypass (also known as State Route 65) sits a few miles east. Pleasant Grove, Foothills and Woodcreek Oaks Boulevards are the neighborhood’s main thoroughfares. Sutter Roseville Medical Center is about 6 miles east, while Sacramento International Airport is about 22 miles southwest.
