Big opportunity in Northrup
Northrup is a neighborhood ripe with opportunities just a few miles east of California’s state capital and the California State University Sacramento Campus. “This area has really picked up with investors flipping homes and renting them out to students and faculty,” says Taraneh Pahlavan of Coldwell Banker Realty, who has over 35 sales in the area. “About 90% of the people in the neighborhood rent, and students love how close it is to midtown.” Northrup residents have a median age of 34, which gives the neighborhood a young and vibrant feel. The area is a mix of large townhome and condo communities and single-family homes clustered on compact lots situated between the busy Fulton and Howe Avenues. The neighborhood is flanked to the east and west by strip malls with retail options and a variety of restaurants.

For groceries, locals can head just south of the neighborhood on Howe Avenue for the choice between major chains Safeway and Raley’s. Northrup has retail options like Marshalls and Ross and is just a couple of miles from the large mall at Arden Fair.
