The homes are usually modest ranch-style houses or cottages, but there are some larger Craftsman and Colonial Revival homes in the neighborhood. “The houses were predominantly built in the 1940s and 1950s and are predominantly one-and-a-half stories or two stories. There’s quite a large range, but 90% are under $600,000,” Spiteri says. Buyers can expect to pay around $250,000 for a two-bedroom house, while three-bedroom homes can go for $370,000 to $470,000. Homes in the area typically sell quickly, averaging just 15 days on the market.

A convenient commute through the Twin Cities

Several highways near South Oak Hill make it easy for residents to get around the Twin Cities. Locals can use nearby Highway 100 to get to I-394, which takes them to downtown Minneapolis. The entire drive is about 7 miles and takes around 10 minutes without traffic. There are bus stops west of the neighborhood on Blake Avenue for those who prefer public transit. The METRO Route 17 bus serves these stops and takes residents east to downtown and Northeast Minneapolis.
